Wasted Moments

Worry

changes nothing

tomorrow unmoved

Forfeiting

the gift

 — of a present unclaimed

Lost In Motion

So much of the time

we’re in transit

Mindlessly going

from place to place

Lost in a limbo

not here and not there

Ignoring the moments

— that set us all free

Remembering Mira

Up your seconds

stretch every moment

Joy in the instant

— present sublime

The Blemish Of Time

You can’t wash the pigment

of the past away

Its stain much deeper

than all regret

Coloring lost moments

with what you hide

Painting the future

— from palettes of broken dreams

Silver Lining

Mortality

fills our lives

with meaning

Procrastination

the future’s

bane

Today is prized

tomorrow

questioned

The moment’s

treasure

— our souls to claim

Exeunt Stage Left

Performance art

embracing the artist

The magic of youth

alive on the stage

Time takes direction

from a glorious past

The memories an encore

— forever to stay

Singing In The Rain

Giving no thought

to yesterday

invested in

tomorrow

Memories pave

the road behind

with joy that’s

wrapped in sorrow

Giving no weight

to seasons past

this moment my

new entry

Calling me on

replaying that song

whose lyrics

— redefine me

Star Drifter

Getting to tomorrow

on stairs of yesterday

Each tread of my reluctance

on risers of today

Promising me nothing

but wisdom from afar

Chasing reams of broken dreams

— adrift among the stars

Incarnation

If there was no one

to believe

would there still

be truth

If there was no one

to tell

would silence

take root

If there was no one

to laugh

would smiles

be gone

If there was no one

to love

would all feeling

— abscond

All Or Nothing At All

The farther we stray

from our natures

the more depressed we get

Hunting, fishing

and chopping wood

our DNA and yet …

We sit and stare

at digital screens

our spirits on the run

And shun each other

inhumane

 our futures zero — sum
