Safe Harbor

Leaving behind excuses,

the reasons close at hand

 

No longer distracted by the ism’s of truth,

or what protocol demands

 

Living outside the fences,

no longer looking in

 

The horizon waiting as my dreams set sail

—safe harbor there within
