The tyranny of inspiration

—a whip cracking within

(Dreamsleep: January, 2020)

The jet fuel of perception

 is fear

The reasoning behind logic

is doubt

The heartbeat of affection

is love

Their connection inherent

—marriage devout

(Dreamsleep: January, 2020)

(short version)

Science wants to father

—what nature mothers best

(long version)

Atoms in the void,

voices in the wind

Long to be connected,

where do we begin

Science wants to father,

what nature mothers best

A baby born beyond their reach

—the Muse to then contest

(St. David’s Pennsylvania: January, 2020)

Not in comparison

to anyone else

(and)

Not as a reference

to anything else

(neither)

Judging nor judged,

the music began

(being)

Uniquely created

—the essence of man

(Dreamsleep: January, 2020)

She brought flowers to the garden,

water to the pond

Fresh stripes to line the zebra’s back,

and melody to song

A background to the rising sun,

brush strokes to the paint

New breath to hold the baby’s laugh

—and love to cure the hate

(St. David’s Pennsylvania: January, 2020)

If all ancient philosophy

is a footnote to Plato

Then all modern thought

—is a tribute to Descartes

(Villanova University: January, 2020)

You have two choices

in war…

Turn into a psychopath,

or suffer PTSD

Becoming the former,

may insure your survival

Suffering the latter

—and your world self destructs

(Dreamsleep: January, 2020)

Is being open to fate,

a choice

Accepting tomorrow,

in lieu of today

A foretelling that still

can be acted upon

A remembrance

—the choosing at bay

(Dreamsleep: January, 2020)

Language builds a place to stand,

inside our own cognition

Each word confirms what thought instills,

in psychic recognition

Are you the true informant,

about what’s inside your head

1^st person self awareness frees

—a nature higher bred

(Villanova Pennsylvania: January, 2019)

Is consciousness a sponge,

that ever expands

Is consciousness a vacuum,

where potential commands

Is consciousness a gateway,

to something beyond

Our mind and our spirit

—a fusion lifelong
