all speaking as God

each part sum in total

which savior, which heaven,

epistles in hand

 

Devotion to difference,

each split ever wide

one bible three meanings

—all preaching a lie

of confusion

Coursing the oceans and lakes

of delusion

Resetting my compass by the

northernmost star

Journeying inward

—where near meets the far

Granting myself latitude,

I stretched every word

In substance and context

—the truth to be heard

Changing with each season,

voices come and go

what’s lost undreamed, ourselves demeaned,

in search of the unknown

 

Naked and left wanting,

fortune sires myth

impregnating its mystery

—with tales of the abyss

Its flow an accordion,

to stretch and compress

A double delusion,

old memory suppressed

New moments upon us,

the instant revealed

Time claiming them all

—redundant concealed

Can God do what he cannot do,

can a circle then be squared

 

Can choices made be taken back,

their history stripping bare

 

Can memory lapse and then recall

the things it chose to miss

 

Can time be stopped as life goes on

—there chained to ne’er exist

Each Poet the debtor,

whose lender forgoes

 

All lines duly tendered,

with verses inured

 

The beauty, the order
