The poetry of prayer …
elevation of the self
Every phrase to mark the path
with meanings higher dealt
Each word releases karma
that joy alone can free
The many none — but one the sum
of all that we can be
(1st Book Of Prayers: September, 2023)
The poetry of prayer …

“The same as it was
before I arrived …
Some better, some worse
some forever contrived”
“With good and with evil
my battle is done
A trumpet plays distant
His will zero sum”
A ticket to punch
with time ever slight
The Reaper approaching
and blocking the light
An Angel in transit
late for His train
My fate his arrival
or lost to refrain
The scythe drawing closer
its blade like an asp
raising in silence
perdition unmasked
But tracks start to rumble
a headlight I see
Saint Peter as promised
—one Angel for me
(1st Book Of Prayers: September, 2023)
Impress
with your meaning
not with your word choice
‘Labyrinth’
dallies
when ‘Mazes’ will do
Build
toward an ending
the shorter the better
The Bullet
strikes deepest
—straight fired and true
(Dreamsleep: September, 2023)
Continue to do
only positive things
Humanity’s outcome
your choices will bring
The darker the cloud
that brings on the rain
The fairer the meadow
—for Spring to reclaim
(Dreamsleep: September, 2023)
In times of war
law remains silent
All doves in flight
—before the storm

Like water
—Genius—
always finds a way

She was desperately beautiful
terribly sublime
Her breath as sweet as candy cane
her skin just so divine
And when she walked the Angels stopped
to marvel and adore
Her every step a guiding light
her presence to allure
And then one day she took my ring
my name she chose to share
A lifetime of unending bliss
—two hearts forever paired
(Dreamsleep: September, 2023)
Easier to know others
than knowing myself
Sentience numbing
what in a stranger is felt
Easier to reach out
than to look deep inside
This painfully obvious
—cognition’s divide
(Dreamsleep: September, 2023)
Call me darling
but never darlin
Call me lovely
but never cute
Call me warmly
from the snow bank
Call me your
forbidden fruit
Call me restless
dreams on fire
Call me once
when twice won’t do
Call my name
into the darkness
Call me
—as I wait for you
(Villanova University: September, 2023)
Raging against tomorrow
blaming yesterday
Running in place—admonishing grace
denial on display
Cursing the past indentured
the future waits in vain
No place to hide—the truth inside
the moment left unnamed
(The New Room: September, 2023)
