Time’s Sultan Of Doom

 If you live long enough

 you can outgrow everything

 even uncertainty and doubt

As the road fades behind you

 and memories compress

giving you a final way out

Taking you into a magical land

 between two worlds where you

 float in-between

One where you struggled and questioned yourself

 and one made of wishes

 and dreams

All choices abandoned and willed to the past

 the either-or the most cryptic

 of tombs

As you travel within and beyond just yourself

 all past futures

  —time’s sultan of doom

In My Heart Delights

I stand and stare as my children tick

 their message gifting time

The safe door open, movements alive

their beats sound off in rhyme

All hands revolve to point the way

 and celebrate new life

While one calls out to adorn my wrist

  —and in my heart delights

‘The Musings Of A Watch Collector’

The Present Looms

Time is speeding out of control

 as life is slowing down

The minutes of my memory

 lost hours going round

My eyelids close, the past on fire

 last vestige still to find

One image flashes bright and clear

 all darkness cast behind

The calendar in ruins

 this moment left in charge

The future marching backwards

 —the present looming large

The Devil Left Crying

Like the hub of a wheel

 reality turns

Each spoke a religion

 a doctrine that churns

Christians and Buddhists

 spread out to the rim

Jews and then Muslims

 attached deep within

The wheel turns in circles

 as spokes never touch

Each message turns blindly

 to act as a crutch

Until craters dismantle

 ….the wheel breaking free

To sink in exclusion

 all truth to be seen

Spokes pile and mix

 lying dead on the ground

The devil left crying

  —salvation unbound
