God’s one imperfection
—his love for man
(Dreamsleep: March, 2023)
God’s one imperfection
—his love for man
(Dreamsleep: March, 2023)
The bats in the tower
rats in the barn
Night befits cowards
who run from the storm
(Poem To End Chapter 48: March, 2023)
Lies and the truth
both fade into memory
Time caring not
whether credence or farce
Married together
they drift into silence
Passing forgotten
—through legend and curse
(Dreamsleep: February, 2023)
In the Spring
memories blow like wind
through the corners of my soul
replacing the dark winter
which time has now beset
Playing its distant lute
change is thrust upon me
rebirthing what fall had rightly claimed
and buried in the past
Visions of dancing June bugs
they fervently surround me
mating my wonderment with joy
as summer waits untilled
The whirlwind dharma
that so haunts my dreams
left comatose and vacant
freeing me for what’s to come
—and what has always been
(Bryn Mawr College: March, 2023)
Refusing to obey
he took command
The power not given
but by his hand
Looking no further
he forged within
The years and the seasons
aboriginal sin
Broken commandments
rust on the gate
Eyes burning inward
past-futures abate
Refusing the mandate
of time’s desperate plan
He slew first the minutes
—as the hours remand
( Dreamsleep: February, 2023)
The finger on the trigger
has destiny in its hand
(Poem To End Chapter 39: February, 2023)
Humility
the hardest skin
for pride to pierce
—and lie within
(The 1st Book Of Prayers: February, 2023)
Invisible in nature
it simmers within
To rise to the surface
when conflict begins
(Poem To End Chapter 32: February, 2023)
Wounded vanity
mother of all tragedy
Slander and insults
the arrows dead aim
Pride bleeding carnage
no reason can bandage
The mirror once broken
—each crack filled with pain
(Dreamsleep: February, 2023)
A man clad in mystery
history would learn
The world in his debt
with fury to burn
Duty and honor
in marriage live on
With courage his mantra
—and battle his song
(Poem To End Chapter 20: February, 2023)
